Vehicles to Communicate with Each Other

Cars are becoming much more cleverer then ever before. The difference between getting in a car in 1991 and then getting in new cars in 2009 is absolutely amazing. We now have so much technology inside of each and every car such as sat nav systems.

But cars are developing at enormous speeds and experts have predicted that within the next decade cars could actually drive themselves. At this moment in time you are most likely thinking that this is something that can only be seen in movies, but I can guarantee you that if you look at the technology that is behind this then you will surely see that we are close to it.

As mentioned above we already have satellite navigation systems which are able to track exactly where you are and the speed that you are travelling at. With the expansion of the internet hitting new heights, there is really not long left until vehicle devices start communicating online.

What I am really trying to say is that the satellite navigation device will check how fast you are travelling and your position on the road, which will then send the statistics promptly over the internet, which will in turn send the info to any other vehicles that are next to you. By knowing the speed you are driving at, the vehicles themselves will be able to avoid collisions and they can take us to our destination without getting lost because they know exactly where they are going.

So for workers such as lorry and van drivers it could actually be a dream come true, as you could rest while the vehicle drives itself. In other ways it works a bit like an autopilot.
