Start Your Engines with NASCAR Checks

By Alan Plastin, February 28, 2010 10:48 am

Are you a NASCAR fan? If so, and you want to let everyone know, then there is no better way than showing your allegiance than by using NASCAR personal checks. In the end, your finances might cause you anxiety, but there’s no reason that they have to be uninteresting.

More formally known as the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, NASCAR is only beat by professional football when it comes to getting more viewers. The loyal NASCAR fans will go hundreds of miles to see a race. Sometimes, a race can have as many as 100,000 people in attendance.

Many NASCAR drivers are as famous as other sports heroes. Dale Earnhardt, for example, is now an honored sports idol, more than ever since he met his unfortunate demise on the racetrack. Richard Petty and Kyle Petty, Carl Edwards, and Jeff Gordon are household names as well.

Stock car racing got its start during Prohibition when drivers would bootleg alcohol. The drivers would restructure their cars to make them faster so that they could better outrun the police when they were being chased.

Today, the racing is done on racetracks. Some of the most famous NASCAR tracks are located in Bristol, Daytona Beach, Atlanta, Indianapolis, and Talledega.

Other kinds of pop-culture have based their things on NASCAR as well. “Cars”, a very popular Disney film was based on the sport. Another film centered around NASCAR is the funny movie “Talladega Nights” with Will Ferrell. Cledus T. Judd, country music comedian and singer, recorded a satire of Toby’s Keith “I Love This Bar” and changed the words to “I Love NASCAR.”

If you want to get checks, there are several designs to choose from. The “NASCAR Collections” series has four check images. A day at the races in Darlington, Daytona, Talladega, and Watkins Glen can be experienced when you look at these checks. A coordinating checkbook cover, address labels, and contact cards can be bought with these as well.

If you’re an Earnhardt fan, then you can also buy limited Dale Earnhardt Sr. checks. These include an image of the celebrated driver in the middle of the checks themselves. Dale Earnhardt Jr. also has his own checks, too.

The NASCAR Racetracks check series show images of some of the sport’s most famous racetracks including Daytona, Talladega, California Speedway and Michigan International.

You can purchase matching coordinates for most the check series.

By getting your checks from a safe website you can save up to 50% off of what your bank might have charged you. Plus, you will have a larger variety to pick from as well. It can be exasperating to go to your bank, only to find out that they don’t have much of a choice and that it will take weeks to even get them. By getting your checks online, however, they’ll get to you in about 5 days or so.

What Is Happening To Toyota?

By Brian Gosur, February 23, 2010 12:20 pm

It is no secret that our economy is in trouble. This is even more true if you are with the automobile industry.

I hired in at Ford Motor Company back in August of 1972. I put in thirty five years of service in before I retired in March of 2007. I have to admit that quality was not the first thing on our minds when I hired in. We didn’t have much competition back then, and how many vehicles went out the door was what we were more concerned about.

Then the oil embargo from the oil producing nations hit us and hit us hard. Many of my friends lost their jobs and never did get them back. I was one of the lucky ones. I was laid off for awhile, but I did get called back.

People were starting to think about saving money. The Japanese introduced their very funny looking cars, but they were cars that were very fuel efficient. As more and more of their vehicles were being sold, the, “Made in Japan”, joke that was passed around was not getting to much laughter anymore. This competition was going to change the whole auto industry forever.

We did not realize this at the time, but this competition made us take a long hard look at the products we were producing. Can we make them more fuel efficient, with an eye toward a better quality vehicle? Competition will always make a better product for the public.

I was given the opportunity, with about thirty other Ford employees to go to visit the Mazda Plant in Hiroshima, Japan. It is a part of my life that I will never forget. The Japanese people and the employees of Mazda were the most gracious hosts. I love the people and the country of Japan, and would very much love to go back and visit it again someday.

As we toured the plant, there was an area where the vehicles came off the end of the line and went to a repair area before final shipment. We had this at all out Ford facilities also. We asked if we good go in and see the area, and we were told that it was off limits for us. They said that it was an area where they got the vehicles ready for shipment and there were no repairs needed. Their cars went straight off the line and out the door. We knew better than that. They had repairs. They just didn’t want us to see.

As I look back at my thirty five years of service with Ford, I saw some incredible changes in quality occur. We went from no concern for quality to producing some of the best quality vehicles in the world. The quality of our vehicles would equal or surpass anything that the Japanese had to offer. What bothered me the most was when Ford, Chrysler, or GM had a concern with one of their vehicles, it was front page news. That was good, because we made it better. I can’t say the same for Toyota.

Many of my family and friends own vehicles from Japanese automakers. We would go around and around on how the Japanese build their cars just like we do and have repairs just like we do. A lot of this way of thinking was fueled by our own news media. They were no different then us, except we own up to our mistakes. They would like you to believe that they don’t have any.

I always felt that the Japanese automakers had our news media on their side. Every time an American car company had an issue with a vehicle, it was always front page news. Not so with the Japanese. You would find their story on the back page, if you found it at all.

Toyota’s day finally arrives. They can’t hide anymore. They are not just having a problem with the accelerator sticking, now it is a brake problem with the very popular Prius. It’s not all the problems that I am upset with, it’s how they are handling it. They aren’t just coming out and taking care of their customers. They had to be dragged out into the open before they would even acknowledge that they had an issue. Now their are problems with the steering. Has there been some type of cover up on some of these issues?

For all those people who were so sure that the Japanese made such far superior vehicles over their own countrymen. You’ll get no pity from me. Continue to drive your cars. Toyota said it’s OK…. You can count on them right…..It might take until fall to get your car repaired…… You won’t crash…..Toyota said it was OK to drive right….Nothing is going to happen to you….right?

By Alan Plastin, February 8, 2010 9:25 am

Showing your personality and style can be easy these days, even when it comes to something simple like your personal bank checks. You will find hundreds of themes to choose from if you take a look at any website that sells checks. Your individuality can be showcased with images from everything from holidays to popular entertainers. You can even find checks with iron horses if you’re a motorcycle fan.

Motorcycles can present an affordable fuel-efficient alternative to other modes of transport. For a single person driving at a steady pace, motorcycles are capable of getting higher MPGs than some cars. Motorcycles have become the number one mode of transport in some countries like Vietnam. They can also be more economical, like in London where motorcycles are not charged the city congestion fee.

Motorcycles mean different things to different people and these interests can be showcased on your motorcycle personal checks. These days, you don’t just have to ride a Harley to be a motorcycle buff.

Still, if you are a Harley rider, there are ample images available for your motorcycle personal checks. From the time when Harley-Davidson was created in 1903 Milwaukee, the brand has inspired a fan base like no other. Five percent of their annual sales alone come from merchandise. It is pretty simple to find personal checks to fit your style, whether you drive a Softail, a Dyna, or Sportster.

Are you a policeman? You can also find personalized checks that contain references to careers. There are many police forces that use motorcycles as means of transport. Some companies offer checks with designs that represent not only police officers’ service to their community, but also feature the motorcycles they ride on while doing so.

Americans’ love of freedom can be symbolized by images of classic motorcycles, like the Indian. The open road is often connected to motorcycles and nothing says freedom like flying down the highway with the wind in your face. Patriotic themed checks frequently have images of the bald eagle, American flag, and classic motorcycles.

Speed and adventure are themes that are usually associated with motorcycle riding, nonetheless. Street bikes can be ridden at track races for exciting and extreme competitions. Dirt bikes and drag racing is featured as images on some motorcycle checks. For those that go to the races, it’s not just entertainment, but an entire way of life.

If you want to show off your passion for motorcycles, using their image on your personal checks can be a great way to go. It can also be a good idea if you own a motorcycle business and want to employ them as marketing tools. Checks that are otherwise plain can be made impressive with a memorable image.

If you want to save money on your motorcycle personal checks, try ordering them online. There are many websites available that let you order them for 50% cheaper than you can get them at your local bank. You can also get duplicate checks and checkbook covers that match your checks.

Before you order motorcycle checks, go to Motorcycle-Checks.com to find coupons and to save 50% off your next purchase of motorcycle personal checks.

Do You Know How To Best Protect Your Child When Learning To Drive

By Lisa Smith, February 3, 2010 12:03 pm

It’s no surprise that the majority of car accidents involve young people who are often learner drivers. For them, driving can appear to be one of the many simple, every day activities that we as adults undertake. With this attitude in mind, is it really any surprise to find out that young drivers are involved in more car accidents than any other demographic?

As a parent or guardian, you’re obviously concerned and wondering what you can do to best protect your child as they begin to drive. Learning to drive is a skill for life, a skill which is needed by all adults, so forbidding your young child to drive is not the solution. What are the best steps you can take to guide your child through this exciting time in their life so that they learn and understand the rules and responsibilities that comes with attaining ones drivers license.

The straight forward, cost effective and simplest solution is to enroll your son or daughter in a driving school. Besides instilling the right attitude in their students, driving instructors are able to impress upon their young students every aspect of driving and road safety.

Driver education often includes such topics as the rules of the road and the laws that govern how we may drive, how one can identify all safety hazards within and outside of the car and generally speaking, how to arrive at point B from point A. Learning all of this in a controlled and supervised environment will ensure they understand everything they need to know.

In Australia, it’s mandatory that all drivers who are on their L permit maintain a log book of the hours they have spent on the theory and practical aspects of driving a car. This is a growing trend throughout other parts of the world as governments begin to tackle the problem of road fatalities. What better way to educate your child than through a school that takes driver safety very seriously.

As your young teenager comes of age where they can begin to drive, setting them on the right track with a driving school can ensure their safety and the safety of other drivers on the road, including yourself should you choose to be a passenger with them. This is one of many big responsibilities they will face in their life ahead of them, so taking the right approach the first time around is a key part for them to attain success.

Having gained their provisional license, encourage your son or daughter to undertake a defensive driving course or advanced driving techniques. There are many courses like this run for free or at low cost for young drivers. By doing this, you can ensure they continue the healthy habits they developed while attending driving school

As you can now see, driving schools are the best way to ensure your child remains safe when they enter a vehicle.

Ways On How To Avoid Major Car Repairs

By Rick Sampson, February 1, 2010 4:52 pm

One of the greatest creation ever was the automobile. I know it was a long time ago, but the world has been changed significantly because of it. But what most people don’t know is that those cars can go bad and cost a ton of money. There are parts to the car that really should be taken care of. These parts of the car if they were to break can really cost you a lot of money. So here are some parts that you have to make sure are taken cared of.

The transmission is the first major part of your car you need to take good care of. This part of the car assists in changing gears. But it is also the part that usually costs a lot when it goes bad. This repair is one of the costlier ones in my auto repair shop. The best way to care for this part is to make sure it always has good fluid in it. Also you need to shift gears gently.

The next part that is very expensive to fix is the engine. Of course everyone pays attention to the engine because it is what runs the car. But I always tell clients of my auto repair is to make sure to always take care of your engine. The main way to do that is to make sure you always change the oil. If you make sure you do that it will always run smoothly.

Another expensive part to fix are your brakes. Hard to believe this small part of the car is expensive, but it is. This is a common repair in my transmission repair shop .

The best way to care for this part is to make sure you always have brake fluid. You might want to make sure you treat your brakes good and not to be too hard on it.

Those are some parts that are not fun to deal with when they break. So follow these simple do’s and dont’s and your car will run smoothly for a long time.
